What is sorority recruitment?

Recruitment at University of Delaware is a time for Non-greek women to meet members of each of the sororities on campus. Non-greek members have a chance to learn about our sisterhood, philanthropies, and find which sorority is the best fit for them. The formal recruitment dates for 2019 will be held on two separate weekends, February 15th-17th and February 22nd-24th. Check out our Recruitment page to learn more about the process and how to register.

How can parents get involved?

We encourage parents to get involved as much as possible with our chapter of Sigma Kappa throughout your daughter's membership. We invite parents to our annual UV Gala and to join us at the Walk to End Alzheimer's in the fall. Feel free to check out our Events page for upcoming events or check with your daughter for events you're interested in learning more about.

Is there an academic requirement?

There is an academic requirement of a 2.6 GPA for every Sigma Kappa member. The Theta Delta chapter keeps our members education our main priority. Our Vice President of Scholarship keeps track of our academic standing as a chapter and for each individual. We offer study hours and provide resources to our members to help them reach their full academic potential.

What about after my daughter graduates?

After your daughter graduates she will officially move to the Alumnae status. The current chapter holds several events throughout the year where we encourage our Alumnae to join us. Alumnae still have the opportunity to be involved with Sigma Kappa for years to come.Your daughter will continue to meet Sigma Kappa sisters wherever she may go in the future. Our members can continue their personal and professional experience with Sigma Kappa long after graduation. There is also many ways to stay involved with Sigma Kappa or the greek community such as advising for a local chapter. The opportunities are endless for our Sigma Kappa alumnae! Check out the Alumnae Experience page to see some of our Theta Delta graduates.
